Ongoing Lycabettus series, started 2004 – Ongoing self-portrait polaroids, started 2000 –
In my painting the subject matter has no importance. I don’t seek it, it just happens. Anyway, in every piece of art it’s always me. It could be a self-portrait (the series of overpainted polaroid self-portraits) or a landscape that I’m looking at through my window in St. Savvas hospital (where the series of Lycabettus started), both are the same thing: an existential diary: Life and Art together, one living autobiography. I’m creating my “here and now”, drawing and breathing the moment. How nice!
